Presidential Proclamations:
- are statements of policy issued by the President on a matter of public policy
- are also used ceremonially by Presidents to honor a group or situation, or to call attention to certain issues or events. (These will be the ones that I will post here on this page - the proclamations and press releases that call attention to specific holidays and observances.)
- do not have the force of law, unless they are authorized by Congress
- are posted on the White House Website in the Briefing Room / Press Office section, under Presidential Actions - Proclamations
