Drink Holidays and Observances

Many Drink Holidays and beverage observances take center stage during our favorite celebrations throughout the year. Some occasions have traditional drink pairings that go hand in hand, like serving sweet eggnog or hot chocolate at Christmas, mixing margaritas for Cinco de Mayo, or brewing up green beverages for St. Patrick's Day. Special events like weddings and New Year's Eve wouldn't feel the same without a classic champagne toast to mark the milestone.

Beverage preferences change beautifully with the seasons. The spring and summer months call for icy refreshments to keep us cool, while the fall and winter seasons invite us to slow down with hot, cozy drinks. Because many of our favorite beverages have their own dedicated Drink Holidays—like National Margarita Day on February 22nd—our calendar is designed to track them all.

While celebrating is fun, it is easy to overindulge in festive beverages that are packed with hidden sugars, heavy caffeine, or excess alcohol. Practicing moderation is a fantastic health habit that keeps your energy balanced. Clean water is always the ultimate choice for hydration, and you can easily elevate a plain glass by adding fresh lemon or seasonal fruits.

A creative and beautiful tip for party entertaining is to freeze fruit slices directly into your ice trays. To prevent your special event drinks from getting watered down, you can even freeze the actual beverage ingredients themselves instead of water—such as freezing pure lime juice into ice cubes to keep your party margaritas perfectly tart and flavorful until the very last drop!
