January 28 – International Lego Day
Personal Note: I believe that Legos are one of the best children's toys that there is. I was the one in our family that started our family legacy collection of Legos. I got my first Legos when my dad was stationed for 4 years in Canberra, Australia when I was in elementary school years and years ago!
From there, I passed my collection down to my younger brother Scott who became an Engineer. Scott passed the collection back to me when my son Ryan was old enough to play with them. Ryan became a Facilities Engineer (see the trend?).
Each person who had the Lego collection, added new sets to the collection depending on what theme they liked. Ryan loved the castle and pirate series.
From there, Ryan passed the Lego collection back to my brother Scott's son Kyle. That was about the time that the Star Wars sets started coming out.
Kyle passed the collection (minus all the instructions!) back to Ryan's oldest son Eli who continued to add all the latest Star Wars sets to the collection. Ryan's 2nd and 3rd child play with Lego's as well and all added to the collection. Hopefully his kids will hang onto the collection and let their kids enjoy them down the line!
P.S. Whoever gets the collection needs a really big dining room table and a secondary place where they can eat!
