The Spring Season is my favorite of all four seasons! The weather warms up from the dreary cold, rainy and snowy weather, and you can spend more time outside.
The land comes alive in Spring, with grass turning green and early flowers like daffodils, tulips and California poppy's and other wildflowers bringing beauty back into your life!
The first day of Spring is also known as the Vernal Equinox with the lengths of day and night being equal around 12 hours each.

Spring is when I usually start to eat lot of Salads. I started Organic Gardening on my Homestead property in 2024, and my lettuces and kale did incredible. I planted them in the fall from seeds and had them produce all through the winter. I swapped them out in early spring with new lettuces grown from seed and kept having salads until the heat got to them.
Spring is the time to head to your local Farmer's Market when they open, unless you are lucky enough to have a year round market. In my town we have several farms that have farmstands that are open year round. The more I learn about food, the more I'm convinced that I need to grow my own Organic Foods without chemicals. Next best thing is finding an Organic farm in your area to purchase from.
I'm a gardener, so Spring is my favorite season! The wildflowers are incredible with my favorite being the California Poppy. Daffodils are one of the first bulbs to pop up followed by tulips.
One of the things that I love about Spring is that depending on where you live in early Spring you still get enough rain and the weather is not so hot, that you have limited amount of watering that you have to do. Also, the insects are not as bad as they are in summer for gardening.
Right now on my homestead property, I do not have a water line down to the two places I have started planting fruit trees and gardens, so watering is tough!
Spring is the time to plant some of the cool crop vegetables like lettuce and to start seeds if you are growing crops from seeds, which is pretty easy and less expensive.
Spring doesn't have near as much preparation as the fall season does.

"Spring will come and so will happiness. Hold on. Life will get warmer. ~ Anita Krizzan
Spring is the transitory season between Winter and Summer, so in most places that I've lived the weather can go either way. Overall, the weather warms up as you head out of Winter, towards Summer, but you can still have those cold mornings and evenings and occasional rain showers. If you live in snow country, you can even see some more snow in Spring.
