Welcome to our World Festivals and Events summary page!  Here we will accumulate by date order some of the biggest, best, and most popular US events and World events as we run into them.

No matter what Country around the World, or City that you live in, there are usually some type of special events that your area is known for. Many of these types of events are held on an annual basis.

Notes:

1. This page will be a work in progress with festivals and events added as we run into them. We will update the dates for the annual events each year, and add them to our Holiday Calendar, or I may set up a separate calendar for event type celebrations.  
2. For some of the major events, we will be doing a devoted page for the event.
3. Also, on our Holidays Around the World section, we will be having a devoted page(s) for each Country, and we will be highlighting some of the famous events in each Country. We will try to include at least one of the most popular events from each Country here.

January 2023 Festivals and Events

• Harbin Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival - Usually starts annually on January 5, and typically runs for a month or more, in Harbin, China and is the largest ice and snow festival in the world! 2023 dates are December 23, 2022 - February 28, 2023. 
• Mummer's Parade - January 1 Held each year on New Years Day in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, It is believed to be the oldest folk festival in the United States.
• Rose Parade or Tournament of Roses Parade is held every year on January 1 in Pasadena, California.  If Jan. 1st is a Sunday, then it will be held on January 2. It is a festival of flower covered floats, marching bands, equestrian riders followed by the Rose Bowl college football game. 2023 is on January 2nd!
• National Western Stock Show and Rodeo - (Denver, CO) - January 7 - 22, 2023
• Pennsylvania Farm Show - January 7-14, 2023 (Harrisburg, PA)
• Golden Globe Awards (Beverly Hills) - January 10, 2023
• Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show - January 13 - February 4, 2023 (Fort Worth, TX)
• Chinese New Year Festival and Parade - (San Francisco) - January 14 - March 5, 2023, Parade on February 4, 2023
• The American Express Tournament (Formerly: CareerBuilder Challenge and Prior to that Bob Hope Classic) - January 16-22, 2023 in La Quinta, CA
• Westminster Dog Show at Madison Square Garden - January 18-22, 2023
• Sundance Film Festival - January 19-29, 2023 - An American Film festival held each year in Park City, Utah.
• International Circus Festival of Monte Carlo - January 20-29, 2023 (Monaco)
• Saint Paul Winter Carnival - January 26 - February 5, 2023 (St. Paul, MN)
• Rolex 24 at Daytona - January 28-29, 2023 (Daytona, FL)

February 2023 Festivals and Events

• Saint Paul Winter Carnival - January 26 - February 5, 2023 (St. Paul, MN)
• 2023 Pro Bowl - February 5, 2023
• Grammy Awards - February 5, 2023
• Yukon Quest - Starting in Whitehorse on February 11, 2023, there will be 3 races - 100 mile, 250 miles and a 450 mile.  The race typically runs for 10 to 16 days until the last team finishes.
• Super Bowl Sunday - February 12, 2023 (Held at various venues throughout the United States each year.)
• World AG Expo - February 14-16, 2023 (Held in Tulare, CA)
• Simplot Games - February 16-18, 2023 - Held at Idaho State University's Holt Arena, it is one of the Nation's premier high school indoor track and field events.
• Carnival (Rio de Janeiro in Brazil) - February 17 - 25, 2023 - Carnival is the biggest festival in the world with two million people a day on the streets. Floats, Parades, Balls, Music and Dancing are all part of the Event
• Carnival of Venice - February 17 - 25, 2023 - An annual festival held in Venice, Italy where people wear masks and costumes
• Daytona 500 - February 19, 2023
• NBA All-Star Game 2023 - February 19, 2023
• Losar - February 19-23, 2023 - The Tibetan New Year, a three day festival that mixes sacred and secular practices that include prayers, ceremonies, hanging prayer flags, as well as sacred and folk dancing and partying. The first day is the most important. (Buddhist)
• Mardi Gras Carnival (New Orleans) - February 21, 2023
• Whooping Crane Festival - February 24-27, 2022 (2023 TBA)
• Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo - February 28 - March 19, 2023 (Houston, TX)

• Iditarod Race - March 4-19, 2023 - A Dogsled Race on the Iditarod Trail  in Alaska running 1,000 miles from Anchorage to Nome
• North Dakota Winter Show - March 8-12, 2022 (Valley City, ND)
• Crufts (The World's Largest Dog Show) held in Birmingham, England - March 9-12, 2023
• Indiana Flower and Patio Show - March 11-19, 2023 (Indianapolis, IN)
  
• AKC National Agility Championship - March 16-19, 2023

• Academy Awards Ceremony - March 22, 2023
• Ultra Music Festival - March 24-26, 2023 - World's Premier Electronic Music Festival held in Miami, Florida.
• Earth Hour - March 25, 2023 at 8:30 pm - Worldwide event encouraging everyone to turn off your power for 60+ minutes to help save the planet!

• National Cherry Blossom Festival - March 20 - April 16, 2023 (Washington D.C.)
• The Masters Tournament - April 6-9, 2023  - The Masters Tournament is one of the four major championships in professional golf.  The event will be held at the Augusta National Golf Course in Augusta, GA
• White House Easter Egg Roll - April 10, 2023 (Day after Easter)
• Grand National - April 13-15, 2023 - The world's most renown horse race held at the Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool, England
• Texas Sandfest - April 14-16, 2023 in Port Aransas, Texas is one of the largest sand sculpture competitions in the world!
• Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival - Weekend One = April 14-16, 2023 and Weekend Two = April 21-23, 2023
• Boston Marathon - April 17, 2023 (Third Monday of April)

• Bay to Breakers Race in San Francisco, CA - May 21, 2023.

• Glastonbury Music Festival - June 21-25, 2023 (last weekend in June) is held at Worthy Farm, Pilton (England). The festival is the largest open-air music & performing arts festival in the world.

• World Series - October 28 - November 5, 2022 (2023 TBA) - A series of baseball games between the winning teams of the American League and the National League to decide the championship of the major leagues.

• Pirates Fest - Cayman Islands National Festival - November 3-26, 2023 (Little Cayman - November 3-5, 2023; Grand Cayman - November 9-19, 2023; Cayman Brac - November 24-26, 2023) This is the Cayman Islands, National Festival and features different events such as street dances, costumes, float parade, heritage days, underwater treasure hunt, games, controlled mayhem with a mock invasion, lots of music and events for kids and teens. 
• Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting - November 29, 2023 (6 days after the 4th Thursday in November)
